FAFSA says proccessed, no schools recieved

My FAFSA says everything has been proccessed though all my schools say they have not recieved my FAFSA application, should I be concern? My FAFSA was sent out Jan 5th.
Example: Boston University application status checker states they have not recieved my FAFSA but have recieved my CSS Profile. I'm concern for many reasons, like at the University of Iowa certain awards are given out as first come first served ( read on a letter recieved from the school about FAFSA), with a efc 0 I can not afford to have a late FAFSA.

Thanks…

No there is no reason to be concerned. Schools upload (download?) from the FAFSA site periodically. they don’t do it every day. it is not unusual for it to take several days for it to show as received. I think it typically takes 2-3 weeks for my daughter’s to show up as received on her school web site. Usually just as I am beginning to panic it appears. As long as you got notification that it was processed there should be no reason to worry yet.

LOL, Give it some time. It will get to your school, so no worrys.

Okay, thanks.

There is generally a lag, but especially now. The school where I work doesn’t even have our computer system set up to accept next year’s FAFSA yet. We definitely want students to file now, and we use the date they are file. But we are still so busy finishing fall & winter processing that we aren’t ready to look at next year yet. Some schools are already looking at 10-11 now, but many are not. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t file now, though! :)

Besides it just started 14 days ago :P

This is still a concern of mines, all the universities who I also sent FAFSA and CSS Profile says the CSS Profile has been recieved but not FAFSA. My FAFSA application status says proccessed. Any else submit FAFSA and schools status is not recieved?

Thanks…

kelsmom: This question pertains to those students who have more than 10 schools to submit FAFSA.

Upon confirmation that FAFSA has been sent to school A, the student deletes the school A to make room for additonal school, but school A has not downloaded the FAFSA, will the original FAFSA sent to school A still be available in the FAFSA system for school A to download, even after school A has been deleted?

Thank you.

Once the FAFSA is processed, it is sent to the school. Even though the finaid office might not have it uploaded in the sense that the info can be seen & used, it is still there. So the student can go ahead & delete/add new schools once he has confirmed that the transaction was processed.

Kelsmom…
Once it is processed, but there is a slight mistake and we correct it, do we resubmit BEFORE sending in other colleges? It only permitted 10 at a time.

Thanks…another parent.

Thanks Kelsmom.

Also, I found the following info on the FAFSA Q&A website:

"If I want to apply to more than ten schools, what do I do?

You can only select up to ten schools at a time to receive your application information. Once you receive the processed Student Aid Report (SAR), you can:

■Select Add or Delete a School Code and add more schools by submitting a correction to your FAFSA information.
TIP: If you make further corrections after adding the new schools, the schools you removed from the original list will not receive these corrections."

THat’s tough…you have to correc the first 10 before doing the next ones. If you started the second set, do you correct the original one manually and send to college. Some schools have the Feb.1 cutoff, then some have 2/15 cut off. Doesn’t permit much time to get w2s/tax forms, etc.

Correct, once you have your SAR, go in make corrections and resend. When that one (the corrected one you sent to the original 10 schools) is processed go in again and add additional schools. Hopefully you arranged the first 10 to be the early deadline schools and the second batch to be the later deadline schools???

If you edit schools then need to edit info, make sure you send the changes to all of your schools. This may require two sets of changes to notify all schools. The schools who are NOT on the list will not receive any updates. Even if I go onto the actual processing website, I can’t see any changes made if my school is not listed on that transaction.

Schools do download differently. One of my daughters applied to Brown and they said we didn’t send the fafsa which we did over a week ago, another college got it from the same batch.
