<p>My brother did his FAFSA last year because he was a high school senior. Now, this year, he's, of course, a college freshman. This year I am applying to college. I did my FAFSA. I hear that if more than one sibling is in college/applying to college, the EFC is cut in half. Does my brother have to fill out a FAFSA this year again? </p>

<p>Yes he does. If he does not he will get no aid. FAFSA must be completed every year.</p>
<p>The part of the EFC based on parent income and assets is divided between the number of the family in college you listed on FAFSA. Any part based on the student’s income/assets stays with that student. The EFC you get once you file your FAFSA has already taken into account the number in college.</p>
<p>And 0 will stay 0. </p>
<p>Yeah, I actually do need to point that out. Can’t tell you how many students have been upset that their aid package didn’t change when a sibling started school … but they had a 0 EFC in the first place. :)</p>
<p>Yes and he may want to check on his school’s deadline. Some are Feb 1</p>
