FAFSA- Siblings in College

I have a little dilemma with FAFSA.

Currently I have listed that one sibling will be attending college in the Fall, and he definitely 100% will.

Now, I have a second sibling that quit college a few years back but is considering re-enrolling this fall. I personally don't believe he will actually enroll, but we'll see.

Is it worth correcting my FAFSA to include this? Will colleges eventually verify the enrollment or do they just take your word for it? If I list him as enrolling and he doesn't enroll, will they reduce my need-based grant...?

Every penny really does count for us, which is why I'm asking (otherwise I'd just assume he's not enrolling). Pretty sure listing another sibling in college will make a decent difference in my EFC...

Also apparently I reported 2 siblings on one of my verification sheets while my FAFSA currently only lists 1... hopefully that won't be a problem...

Thanks!

All my children had “sibling verifications forms” that had to be submitted by early Fall. With a cut in your EFC they would be foolish not to check. It has to be done by the FA office of the sibling’s school and the student has to sign it also.

I would ask your FA office about adding a sibling when or if they go…I don’t think they will for a “maybe” since it isn’t valid now.
