<p>What generally needs to be provided to the college or university for the 'verification' process? Just the tax return? W-2s? Schedule C expense documentation/receipts?</p>
<p>If the college selects you for verification, the college will let you know what to send.</p>
<p>At several different schools, the procedure was pretty similar, a form where you re-enter your info that was on worksheets ABC of FAFSA, confirming the accuracy of it, and a copy of your tax return.</p>

<p>Depends on the college, I’ve only been verified once in 4 years and only had to send a copy of the tax form (no copies of W-2s). Also they only wanted the 1040, none of the supplemental pages so clearly different colleges ask for different “pieces.”</p>
