Fail AP Chem Test

I am pretty sure i am going to fail the test tomorrow. What classes if any would i even be able to skip if i passed this test?

Chem 6 series and anything below that i would presume

Sorry scratch that, ucsd only allows you to waive the 6 series if you get a “5” on the AP test. Getting a “4” on the chem ap test allows you to skip Chem 6a though i think.

^yepp thats right

i’ve heard it’s bad to skip it tho cuz upper divs are way harder…so it’s good to take chem at ucsd

yea, i’m pretty sure imma fail tmrw too!

Wow, I was thinking this five minutes ago

So, I guess there’s really no worry about failing the test?

I dont know… I’m not complaining that I don’t have to take the entire Chem 6 series (except BL). I don’t have to deal with those classes and move on to the other classes I have to take. Why waste time on these classes if you have an opportunity to use the time you spent studying Chem in HS and get credit for it.
Sorry, but I just see this as an excuse to make yourself feel better for failing the test.

If you are Premed, you will need to take the chem6 series regardless of how your AP test goes.

^ Not true.

Medical schools only prefer that you take your pre-requisites in college rather than opt out of them via AP Credit.

There are a few exceptions (Math), but General Lower-Div Chem can be passed out of with credit.

^ There are some schools that DEMAND you take science courses at the college/university level and will refuse to take AP credit in its place. UC Davis’ SOM is such a school, refusing to take AP Bio.

(which I think is a stupid requirement – because someone like me, who hasn’t taken a general bio course since AP Bio [and got a 5] and will have snagged a PhD in biology would still have to go back and learn about mitotic spindle nonsense alongside 17-year-olds)

I refuse to take the BILD series…

how about if u got a 3 on the chem? does it waive off chem 6a too?

^nope. waives chem 4 or 11
need a 4 on ap to pass out of 6a
need 5 on ap to pass out of whole series
