Fail two midterms so far... what's next?

I just transferred from a community college to an university this quarter. I took my first two midterm in two separate classes and I end up failing both. Luckily, I have one more midterm and a final for each classes, but I feel so deflated. These classes are biochemistry and genetics.

I feel like I destroy my chances and feel so doom. What can i do to improve my grades?

Pray?

Seek help from the professor during office hours; see where you went wrong (is it a work ethic/time management thing or a concept/material thing) – reflect on your mistakes and change how you study and prepare for future exams.

Stop by office hours, and maybe look into school tutoring resources. Past exam banks might be a good study tool as well, if they’re available. But figure out where you went wrong, and find ways to fix the problem. Reach out and get help, your professors and TAs want you to do well.

Also, double check that you actually failed the midterms. What was the class average/standard deviation, and how do you compare to that? Especially in technical classes the average could be 50%, sometimes even lower.

Yeah, I am changing my study habit. I’m starting sooner and going to office hours. Any other advices?

Get into study groups next time. It helps having the extra reinforcement when going over things with your peers.
You should talk to your counselor and professor about what your grade is going to be. Is it not an option to withdrawal from those classes and take them again?
