so im a senior in high school and i’ve never taken physics before. now im taking ap physics c electricity and magnetism and failing because i never learned basic physics/mechanics . should i switch to regular physics or just try to get my grade up in ap?
I want to be a biomedical engineer btw so i dont know if it will look bad if i just take regular physics on my transcript for college admission?
Why did your school let you take AP Physics C without any prerequisites? Can you drop down to honors or AP Physics 1? You definitely should take a year of physics.
i can’t fit either of those into my schedule so they put me into physics c
ap physics c mech is literally a pre req, your school is stupid for letting you take EM. don’t continue with it because even if you do well you wont understand the material, and there’s no point in have EM credit if you don’t have Mech credit.
DO NOT continue with it. Taking regular physics is perfectly fine for Engineering by the way.
There are three AP Physics: AP Physics 1 and 2 do not require any Physics (although a Physical science or Physics class may be taken beforehand, but it’s manageable without it.)
AP Physics C assumes you’ve taken, at a minimum AP Physics 1, OR 2, or Honors. It’s not possible to take AP physics C ‘cold’ with no previous study of physics.
In short, you’re in a class you cannot pass. It’s like starting in Russian 3 and wondering why you don’t understand anything.
My school requires honors or academic physics (no AP Physics 1 or 2) for AP Physics C. DROP THE CLASS.
First of all, I love how the beginning of every school year has dozens and dozens of “I’m failing physics” threads. And I was in your place last year. I thought it was going to get better. It didn’t. DROP THE CLASS or you will be like me, staying up until 3 AM and bawling your eyes out because physics gets worse as the year goes on. And you don’t want that, trust me.
