I’m a high school senior who maxed out on math at my school so I decided to take math at my local community college this year. Last semester, I took Calculus 3 and received an A, but this semester in Differential Equations, I was sick for most of the semester and my attention went to high school and AP exams so I will most likely receive a C in the class. While this cause my admission to be rescinded? These classes are NOT connected to my high school and will NOT show up on my high school transcript.
I should clarify: sorry for the misleading title, I won’t be failing, just barely passing.
Generally C’s are fine – you want to avoid D’s and F’s. If you feel your grades will drop significantly you could ask your guidance counselor to send a note detailing your illness along with the final transcripts.
Not only will it not get you rescinded you need to send your community college transcript to your college. A C can get you transfer credit.
At my college, transfer credit won’t apply. If I send my transcript it will be just to prove that I took the class.
This wasn’t really your question, but I just wanted to make sure you understand that you are required to send the transcript, even when it has no effect on acceptance or credit. You can be rescinded if you don’t. Universities use the National Student Clearinghouse to check whether students reported all their college courses. If you apply to grad school you will have to remember to send the transcript again. I learned this from the good folks here on CC.
