Failure-(need moral support)

Well I am a soph. in high school and so far my education is horrible. I have such a low GPA compared to the other magnet hs students in my school.
Look: 1st semester 9th Grade

Geometry-79.4% 2 on GPA
P.E-89% 3 on GPA
Civics/W. Geography-88% 3 on GPA
Lit- 89%-3 on GPA
all are adavnced/prep courses

9th Grade 2nd semester
Computer Apps-89
P.E/Gym-93/88
Spanish 1-98
Biology-85

Now
Spanish 2-88
worlds lit-95
algebra 2-80
culinary arts-98

Sooo..with these grades, I'm afraid I can't even APPLY to out-state schools or even schools in GA like UGA(my dream school) and Emory. Are my grades really as bad as I think..? I barely have EC's -

Are you American, because in Canada these grades are average?

She is a resident of Georgia, craze200:

 1. There are quite a few schools out there that would still take such grades.
 2. You are a sophomore; some schools, even those at the highest level, will disregard freshman grades. So unless you continue your first semester freshman year achievement throughout HS you may be able to gain admission to Emory and definitely UGA.

really? because every time I look at the boards for UGA, ppl with like a 3.4 GPA are told they might be deffered so I got paranoid. and yeah, I'm American.

Screw the WAMC section...I tell you that part of the board needs to be locked to underclassmen.

Wow, at my school if someone had a 79.4 they'd be begging the teacher to bump up the grade. And most teachers actually would (cutoff is 79.5).

But you seem to be on the borderline anyway, so you shouldn't have trouble getting straight As in the future. Colleges like upward trends.

I didn't know some colleges disregard freshman grades!!

Yeah, I just found out it's included in your GPA.

Stanford, Princeton, University of Michigan are the ones that come to mind now.
