<p>Hello,</p>
<p>I'm a rising senior and am, of course, looking at prospective colleges and thought I might post my 'profile' here out of curiosity. I welcome any recommendations you may have.</p>
<p>My first choice college at this point is Princeton. I am in love with the low student-to-faculty ratio, the atmosphere where it's understood that we're all here for a pursuit towards truth is something I've always looked for. The preceptorial system appeals to me immensely. In sum, the sheer dedication of the professors to aiding and teaching their students is the closeness I am looking for in a college education.</p>
<p>That said, please feel free to recommend any other colleges you feel 'fit the bill'.</p>
<p>As for my academic basics, here it goes:</p>
<p>I attend a very rigorous school that accepts students through an application process. For security's sake I'll leave it being one of the "Public Elite" schools Newsweek lists.</p>
<p>GPA: 4.32 unweighted, 4.59 weighted</p>
<p>SAT: 2320, took it once in June, no intention to take it again.</p>
<p>CR: 740 M: 780 W: 800</p>
<p>Subject Tests: 750 Math II, 730 U.S. Hist., 710 Lit. Not as high as I like, but I honestly didn't care enough about these tests.</p>
<p>I've taken 5 AP's thus far, 5's on every one. Will be taking two more AP's my senior year.</p>
<p>My school offers dual enrollment options and so far I've taken Linear Algebra, and Mathematical Reasoning. Senior year I'll be taking Multivariable Calculus and International Relations as dual enrollments. (I took BC Calc my sophomore year if you're curious, note, I am not actually a math sci person)</p>
<p>I've taken a combined 11 years of foreign language, 5 of German, 4 of French and 2 of Chinese which I intend to pursue in college. I consider myself nearly fluent in German and French, and am also completely fluent in Turkish. My mother's an immigrant from Turkey and I've spent over three years there.</p>
<p>Now you're probably thinking I'm a language person, but really it's all been out of interest and in studiously taking advanced classes since middle school.</p>
<p>I'm in actuality a history-government person. By graduation I'll have taken 10 classes in this field, so I'm fairly certain I'll major in PoliSci, Philosophy, International Relations. (Yes, I'm aware Princeton doesn't allow multiple 'majors')</p>
<p>I have various academic awards and honors, including Regional Outstanding in the COMAP Competition in Math Modeling, Rensselaer Medalist, and various top ten percentiles for Language Competitions, and other awards as a debator which I'll detail below.</p>
<p>For extracurriculars, my most important commitment is Honor Council, an elected body that handles honor violations in my school. This will be my third year.</p>
<p>Following that is Debate, also for my third year. I do Lincoln-Douglas, a philsophy oriented style of debate. Numerous finalist awards in district tournaments. Two time States finalist. Nationals qualifier this last year (did not attend for financial reasons)</p>
<p>History Honor Society, National Honor Society, and a local elementary school tutoring project I've done for four years are my other extracurriculars I care most about.</p>
<p>I volunteer weekly for my local History Society, cataloguing and organizing their database of historical objects.</p>
<p>No sports, transportation's been an issue. (My school is some distance from where I live, regrettably)</p>
<p>I have quite a bit of work experience. Just to give you an idea, for nearly two years (since the business first opened) I've worked about 40 hours per week, every week, all year at a restaurant. (Yes, 40 hours. 80-90 in the summer, here's why...) It's family owned and I basically am second in command, my mother being first obviously. It's a tremendous amount of responsibility and dedication, something I intend to make clear in essays. My teacher's also know how difficult it is for me to go to such a demanding school and work so much. My hobby in Graphic Design led me to independently design and create both our restaurant's menu and website, an endeavor which has saved the business nearly $2,000.</p>
<p>I think that covers it for employment, I've held two others summer jobs but nothing like what I do at the restaurant.</p>
<p>I'm confident my recommendations will present me favorably as I am: a truly hardworking, well rounded student with a deep intellectual curiosity.</p>
<p>My apologies for the length of this post. Colleges consider students as a whole, so I wanted to reflect that here as well.</p>
