Fair Warning

The president of our local Parent’s Club stated that he was told (from officials at USAFA) that because of the inflated Cadet Wing size, some of the things that may have been tolerated in the past will now be dealt with more severely.

Specific example, alcohol violations - first offence may be tolerated, but second offence you are out.

Mind you, I am only passing this along and really do not know the exact USAFA source or precisely how such things are handled.

My motivation is sending this out is to urge the Cadets to be smart and circumspect about what you do (I am sure most of you are). You are our future and we do care. (Honest) :)

Just out of curiosity...have you all on the hill heard anything like this from your PTB?

well, from my own perspective at the bottom of the totem pole, nothing's been said to us. but, some higher ups in command positions (hornet) may have heard differently

Hmmm... seems odd. I would think to get slim in size they would just not accept so many 2013 cadets.

I actually heard that remark from my mom who attended the very same "SEXY" parent's meeting. :)

On the command side, nothing specifically stating that was ever said (and I doubt it would be). However, in the last year, punishments for major infractions have become much more intense and expulsion is more likely than it was two years ago.

It's always been my impression that infractions have been a "2 strike" system for awhile? To be honest, most of us got in here by keeping our noses clean, just do your thing and make it through... I've seen some cases of what I like to refer to as "USAFA paranoia" and all that does is make life miserable...;)

No, the two strike system only started last year. It used to be more like a 10 strike system....Good thing for you guys, you don't know any different.

If the wing size is "inflated" does that mean they're going to make 2013 a slightly smaller class than the others?

I would not say that right away. If I recall for our class they said they did not expect the number or people to accept that did. Also, they are seeing fewer people quit. If I recall last year was the first class to graduate over 1000 cadets since the early 90s.
