Fairfield vs. Providence vs. St. Joe's

My son has been accepted at Fairfield, Providence, and St. Joe's. He wants to study finance. Which school has the best academics? internship possibilities? best overall?

One thing in Providence’s favor is that they hope that their business school will soon be accredited. From their website:

Providence College’s School of Business is currently seeking AACSB accreditation. The School of Business was created to meet the requirements of AACSB and its accreditation standards. AACSB stands for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, and accreditation by the association is considered entrance into the “Golden Tier” of Business Schools. It provides business schools that have achieved AACSB accreditation worldwide with an elite standing in Higher Education/Business Education.

They do a pretty good job with internships etc, and have a great alumni network. I think Fairfield is good, too, but maybe a notch lower. Don’t know about St. Joe’s.

Fairfield is already accredited by the AACSB. I would imagine there are internship opportunites in NYC, since Fairfield is only an hour train ride away.

Fairfield is great academicly, they have great intership opertunity. My brother goes there, and got a great one for him. He is a Business majoir.

Fairfield is my son’s top choice right now. He is looking forward to going to Accepted Students Day and will make a final decision after visiting the school. He has been accepted to the School of Business.

My college son loved the atmosphere at Fairfield and it was his second choice school. We visited St Joe’s and Providence when looking for schools for the application list with both boys, and neither school made the list. I liked both schools and know kids who are going to them who are doing well and are very happy.

I went to the Fairfield business school open house back in November and it seems like they have a great program. I visited one of the lecture halls which contains around 14 bloomberg terminals allowing students to monitor and analyze markets just like the pros (very few universities have them on campus). It also seems like the University has great alumni so getting an internship/job will not be a problem. In addition Fairfield already has a AACSB accredited business school, unlike Providence so i would give the edge to Fairfield. As for St. Joe’s, i haven’t heard alot about their business school.

I’m currently deciding between Fairfield and Syracuse. It’s going to be a very hard decision, loved both schools.

Anyone have an opinion on Fairfield’s business program as compared to TCNJ’s?
