I'm currently at Mount Holyoke, but I want to go to Dartmouth so bad. It was my top choice, and I got rejected. Haha, I can't say I was very happy after that, but I've picked myself back up, brushed the dust off, and am willing to give it a go again. I don't think they have any idea of how badly I want to be a part of the Dartmouth experience. I'm not being hokey or anything, I'm really serious! I believe that I can truly contribute to others' students experiences as well. I just KNOOOOOW it!

I'd like to apply to Columbia and Stanford, too, but, hahaha, I'm very sure I have an even worse chance of getting accepted at those two schools.

For what it's worth, I wish I had discovered this site as a freshman. It helps. I'm at Smith, btw, looking to be a junior transfer. If you want one of those schools you listed, try to get a 3.7 GPA in challenging coursework.

So here's my situation, I ended high school very strongly, 3rd in my class of 240 students, with a 3.9 GPA, two AP courses and a crapload of honors stuff. I applied to Grove City College, got in, and started out as an EE major. First semester was rough, got a 2.96 GPA. Decided this isn't the school for me (no, not because it was hard, because of many other things), I want to transfer to Pitt main campus. I applied yesterday and got my transcripts and all that forwarded.

What do you think are my odds of getting in? Because I have completed fewer than 24 credits as of now, I believe they WILL look at my high school transcript, which is very strong, so my only weak point is my 2.96 from my first semester here, which still isn't THAT bad considering 1) EE and 2) Grove City. On Pitt's site they say they require a 2.5 and prefer a 2.75. Should I be fine?
