Fall 2014 Admissions

@brokensticks do u wanna enroll GS?

@boots2‌ actually, only GS will offer me scholarship… I have no FA in all of the schools, because i am an international student.

@canwng Yes, i officially commited to the GS.

So I just got an email inviting me to an admitted students day for people in CA. The only thing is, I haven’t heard anything indicating I’ve been accepted yet. And I’m in Tennessee. Not California. Anybody else get this?

Good sign? Error?

I’m new to this group and happy to say that I got an acceptance letter in last week!
@boots2 I went through same situation. I got an invitation letter first rather than acceptance letter. Columbia said they sent the official package by using fedex but it went something wrong. You better call to them. Fingers Crossed!

Does anybody live in CA? I live in San Francisco so I will go to West Coast Orientation on June 28th in SF.
Anybody in?

@wright01‌ stats?

@achtungtree88 My stats.
GPA 3.89
Dean’s list
Internship at Senator’s office
International student Leadership Award
TA in Mathematics and Korean
Mathematics Endowment Scholaship Award
And bunch of club activities, volunteer works…and job experiences

@boots2 I also received the email inviting me to west coast student day, however I have not received my official acceptance package yet as well, but I called GS and they told me that it was sent last week in the mail. I think its safe to say you have been accepted.

Anyone here going to be attending the southern Califonia student day? I live in San Diego.

This is just a general question to anyone that has applied to GS: After you submitted your application to GS did you ever receive any confirmation from them that everything had been submitted correctly and your application was under review, or was it just up in the air after you pressed submit until you heard back from them?

@wright01 and @jamesljb123 When did you submit your application?

@seatown37 I was an Early Action applicant (Deadline March 1st). GS admissions reviewed my application and upon review wanted to see my spring semester grades before making a final decision. So they pushed my application into the regular decision pool.

Following up on your first question: GS will send you a link and ID number to track whether or not GS received all of the required documentation. You will have to call them to find out if your application is under review. When in doubt just give them a call they will answer every question accept whether or not you have been accepted or rejected.

@Seatown37 I also was an EA applicant.

Just got my acceptance in the mail. Am I reading this right? I have to pay the $500 fee before I get to see my financial aid?

Has anyone that applied for Regular Admission heard back yet?

I applied for regular admission.

@boots2‌ stats? And when did you apply?

@boots2‌

My name is Noah and I am Assistant Director of Communications at GS.Congratulations on your acceptance.

A $500 deposit is required in order to attend an Academic Planning Session, not to receive information about financial aid. To discuss financial aid, you should contact the GS Financial Aid office at (212) 854-5410 or via email at gsfinancialaid@columbia.edu. I hope this helps.

Stats:
College GPA: 3.94
ACT: 34
Already have a bachelor’s in music. Going back for computer science.

My application was completed and all materials processed on May 25th.
And thanks, Mr. Noah. Will do.

Thanks, @boots2‌. They got back to you fairly quickly.

Hi everyone! Congrats to all who received their acceptance letters! I have a question about the financial aid login method of determining acceptance. I went to the newly admitted student page on the Columbia GS website and clicked on the link for the Planned Enrollment form. I was able to log in and complete/submit the Apply Online tab. Is this what you’re all referring to? It’s the same as the financial aid link under the current admissions link on the track your application page. Here’s the actual link:

<a href=“(Columbia University) Student Log In”>(Columbia University) Student Log In;

Just double checking so I don’t get excited over nothing :slight_smile: Are you saying that if I’m able to log in here I can assume I’ve been accepted, or is this not the correct thing? If not could someone post the correct link so that I can try? Thanks so much!
