Is the difference in whether I can log in as a first time user?

If I simply use my CUID and birthday as a password it works. However if I choose new user it does not work and says something like “unable to activate account refer to code IA”

Yay you were right @boots2!! I just got a call saying I’ve been accepted and I cannot concentrate at all at work haha. Sorry though I obvi have no idea about financial aid but if it’s in the welcome packet then they said I should get it by Thusday

College GPA 3.49/PTK member

My essay was about my unique childhood and how I kind of built up ambition over time, what skills I’ve gained both in & out of class and why it’s the perfect time for me to attend Columbia GS
Went to college after hs for a year, then took 3 years to work/internships/travel

@Seatown37 SO long ago it feels like! April 24th everything was in. However at the end of May or early June I called to check on my status and they found a mistake-my college transcript was submitted along with a letter, and they thought the envelope was simply a letter or something so I don’t think it was actually reviewed until early June

@achtungtree88 I attended several colleges during the years, so I’m not sure how they calculated my GPA (mostly As and Bs), but I believe my essay (interesting life story, lots of adversity) and recommendations helped out a lot. I got an email first then a FedEx package.

What I got from this experience is that while perfect grades are impressive, they will also be impressed with amazing drive and dedication. They want to see great leadership qualities and an excellent work ethic that will transfer over to the workplace once you graduate.

Also, my account has been updated and I can now log into the financial aid page. However, I don’t want to get too excited, I remember reading someone was able to login but was still rejected somehow.

I, too, was able to log onto the financial aid website today for the first time. How was this backdoor acceptance method rumor started? Someone earlier posted that they could sign in, but were then rejected.

To those who may still be waiting to hear from housing, please be sure you have submitted a housing application. The application deadline is July 1, and housing offers will be sent out later that month. If you do not receive an offer, you will automatically be placed on the waitlist.

@GSTourGuides What is the Dean’s Scholarship for New Students? It has that listed on my financial aid page, but it doesn’t say what it is or how much it’s worth?

I just received a phone call informing me of my acceptance.

Didn’t take the SATs, so I took the General Studies exam… I thought I flunked it to be honest, not a great test taker.
I had really good letters of recommendation.

My essay was 700 words over, which I was nervous about, but they seemed to be OK with that.

If you have any question, let me know. I was on this site 24/7 grasping for hope.

Under the “Messages” tab, there should be a description of each award you are being offered. Under the “Awards” tab, you should see a breakdown of the amount of each award. If the information is missing or incomplete, it’s possible the Financial Aid office hasn’t finished processing your awards.
