Fall 2014 Applied/Accepted Thread!

Hi guys! So I am pretty much a veteran at trying to apply to CPP. This is my third year in a row applying. I applied twice out of a CC and now im applying to transfer from Cal Poly SLO. CPP didn’t deny me last year until MAY!!! Their admissions process is awful! And not to mention that last year I got accepted to UC Davis, Cal Poly SLO, Fresno, and Chico. CPP was the ONLY school that denied me. Anyway I urge you all to commit to other schools by the end of this month! Do not count on CPP. I commited to SLO and im glad I did. Good luck and contact me if you have ANY questions about this process because I have been through it all. Even appealing the decision. Good luck!

Woops! forgot to say i got accepted.
Here are my Stats again
Major: Undeclared
CSU GPA:
W: 3.23
UW: 3.09
ACT: 24 Composite
Will graduate with 5 AP classes.

Anyone got rejected/accepted to pomona for civil engineering yet? Still waiting on mine :/

My son is still waiting to hear decision for civil engineering also. I hope decisions will be released this week. I believe the last post for any engineering acceptances was around Feb. 15 on CC. Admissions says they admit in waves on a rolling basis. I hope the next wave is by end of this week. Good Luck to everyone!

Transfer Student from El Camino College
Major: Civil Engineering
Transfer GPA: 3.48
Schools applied: CSULB (accepted), CSUN (accepted), Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly SLO, UCSD
IGETC not completed (only missing a history)
All major courses completed.

Does anyone have any idea when the next wave of acceptances are going to be? I have still not received a decision and I am starting to get worried.

Transfer student from Cal State San Bernardino
Major: Civil Engineering
Alternate Major: Construction Engineering Technology which is not impacted.
Transfer GPA: 3.10
IGETC completed and Accosiate Degree in Math and Science completed
Have over 90 transferable credits.

Im still waiting to hear from CPP. Last year when I had to apply as first time freshman I got on the waiting list for civil engineering, but then was denied. It took until the last month for acceptances. Hoping to hear sooner, what do you think my chances are? Do they often take people for their alternate major?

Any mechanical engineering transfers hear anything yet? Someone from the transfer thread said if your status is “referred to impacted plan” that means you made the first cut. I want to believe!

@swimmerhair Mine shows “Incomplete” for Mechanical Engr. But I am a freshmen applicant should I be worried?

I think incomplete means you have something to do on your To Do list no?

@swimmerhair well yes just the math and english ELM exams but those are due in May.

My son’s portal still says “Incomplete” too. To Do List says, “No current to do information found”. I believe he had high enough test scores to exempt him from the placement tests. So, I can’t figure out what else could be missing aside from final transcripts. Not too worried as he is planning to attend CPSLO but would be nice to not be left in the dark so long. I guess we’ll just wait and see. Good luck everyone!

Cal Poly Pomona emailed my daughter that all applications being reviewed are incomplete until a decision is made. She’s still waiting for a decision too. Her status is incomplete.

yes I just an email from cal poly pomona saying that decisions are still being made and should hear back by mid-April

April? omg… but thats like when the last EPT test deadline is… why are they taking so long… I am hella scared.
CPP is my first choice…ughughughughugh
Major: Computer Science
I have CSU GPA: 2.91
ACT: 19
my chances are really low huh?

@cawahe You are not alone
Mechanical Egr.
Gpa 4.04
Act 17

@cawahe Computer Science is an impacted major so I wish you the best of luck getting in… Which means it’s more competitive than the previous years since more people are applying for CS these days.

Civil Engineering for anyone yet? starting to worry…

calvin053096 - My son is still waiting to hear back for Civil Engineering too. I really hope we hear something soon because I’m worrying just like you. Best of luck to you and everyone that is waiting and checking their portal for an acceptance.

Do you mind sharing his stats? Also did he receive an email to do the survey?
