I go to Northern Virginia CC and I'll be getting my Associates in Music by the end of the semester with a 3.2. I'm a first generation hispanic female. I wanted to change my major though to Education or Human Development.

Do you think I have a good chance?

As long as your associates in music includes general classes such as english, math, science, etc. and your grades in those courses are A/B work you should be competitive. Education at VCU is graduate level, so your major would depend on what you want to teach. If is elementary ed, then the major you’d be looking into would be the interdisciplinary studies major with a concentration in liberal studies for early and elementary education.

To get into the extended program to become licensed and work to the masters degree, you will also need to take the PRAXIS exam or whatever else is needed by the state.
