For all students waiting for their Graduate admissions letter for the Fall 2015… When should we expect to hear back? I am currently an undergrad graduating this upcoming MAY.
I applied with the school of Education back in mid October. Feel free to post stats and if you need help with something that bother you, DO NOT hesitate. Let’s twist thumbs together, hopefully soon we’ll be grad students soon!
I applied to Brown Chemistry (PhD), and have not heard anything. I called the Chemistry Department the week of 1/19 and was told they have not sent out any letters yet, but they ‘hope’ decisions will be finalized by the end of the week. On the Graduate admissions webpage it says “expect a decision within 4-8 weeks after the application deadline,” which for the chm dept was 12/15. This seems to be a general approximation rather than a rigid timeline. A professor at my current school earned a PhD in Chemistry from Brown and says he didn’t receive a decision until March but it can be as late as April (well outside the 4-8 weeks). I’m assuming the later you hear, the more people who had to turn down their admission offers to that school before they sent you an offer.
I was getting nervous because so many other people are hearing back from their grad programs. If you are nervous, you can call an administrator and ask. No need to give your name!
