Fall 2015 Transfer

@revmatching see it was worth the wait, i however had to wait all this time just to get rejected…

@NHuffer Thank you

@transferfor2015 Sorry to hear, mate. If it makes you feel any better, they took so long with decision that I started putting other plans into place and I probably won’t be at GW. This process raises serious concerns about the quality of their education and their concern with the circumstances of students. It’s much more likely that I’ll be doing the BA/MA program at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Good luck in all your endeavors.

@revmatching Inunderstand your frustration with the admissions process, but it doesn’t make any sense to correlate admissions failures to quality of education. That would be like saying a school’s academic program must be lacking because their athletic program is poor.

@NHuffer i dont think he is making that direct correlation. it is more of they treated him poorly before they accepted him. as i said in a previous post i have family in college admissions and they all expressed their disbelief in the way it was handled. those of us diligent enough to call multiple times and reach out via social media understood why late may/early june turned into late june. but im guessing there were people friday afternoon that did not understand why they had not heard. gw never reached out to anyone, or posted anything on facebook or twitter or reddit or here or any other forum on why there was such a delay in getting responses out. gw is supposed to be a higher tier institute of higher education that is aiming to be better every year, they should understand that they will continue to get more interest and thus more applicants looking to finish their initial college experience at gw. the excuse of they had more applicants than expected yet still closed there doors and went home at 5 every night for 3 weeks is pretty pathetic. it seriously messed with a lot of peoples plans. i get that it is a great school and i am sure revmatching agrees, but the way they handled this batch of transfer admissions was poor. perhaps a better analogy would be having a terrible tour guide that just failed a test and meeting the one professor that just got fired and both of them telling you what a shit place the school is. it just leaves a sour taste. i am hoping the next couple of years will be better and perhaps i will attend gw for grad school.

@revmatching honestly i don’t feel too bad about not getting in, its more about the length in time it took to hear that i wasn’t getting in. my back up school is a “public ivy” that in the rankings is on par with gw. i was just hoping to live in dc for a couple years, but as ive said before i may do that for grad school, staying in state will certainly save a small enough fortune that could make that dream a possibility. and again thank you for your service and i wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Has anyone gotten their housing assignment yet?
