Fall 2016 Internal Transfer

What is the minimum GPA to be considered for Internal transfer into Nursing at UT?
Or has anyone been accepted into Nursing with a GPA below a 3.0?

The website states that GPA of 3.0 and above will be given preference, so I assume the actual minimum would be something below that.

I have heard that the freshmen admissions into the nursing school has become more competitive starting with the 2014 degree plan, and I would assume that internally transferring would increase in difficulty as well. Prior to 2014, the minimum GPA required for the nursing application was a 2.75 (didn’t necessarily mean you had a good shot, just meant they wouldn’t toss your app in the trash). Generally what I have seen in the past when pre-nursing students actually had to compete against each other for around 60 upper division slots were GPAs above 3.5, and the lowest (that I know of) being 3.2 (this person had good ECs, volunteer hours, good essay, etc.)

You can try calling the school of nursing and see if they can give you stats such as minimum GPA, average GPA of successful internal transfers, etc.
