I’m a current sophomore applying to transfer to BC from Wellesley College for the fall 2016 semester. My college GPA isn’t fantastic because Wellesley has grade deflation (meaning every class can have an average grade no higher than B/ B+), it’s a little over 3.0 now. Will BC take into account the grade deflation policy when looking at my transcript? Do they take into account the school you’re transferring from? I got in early action when I first applied as a senior, will they consider that too? Thanks!
BC will likely be very familiar with Wellesley’s system, especially since they’re both in MA. They absolutely take into account where you’re transferring from. For example, a 4.0 transferring from Harvard or Princeton is not the same as a 4.0 transferring from some rinky-dink college that hands out A’s. As for your last point, I know BC “dumps” all their application info after each cycle. I would get in touch with your regional admissions counselor at BC and ask if you can add a note saying you were already accepted to your file.
