@naomik29: You cannot change your major until you enroll and attend. Here is a link for the change of major criteria:

Same… What is wrong with Cal Poly Pomona?
does anyone know how many incoming freshmen applied to pomona for fall 2017? (It sucks how pomona doesn’t update their statistics like how slo does)
I though CPP would be a safety for my son whose stats are GPA 3.87 & ACT 28/29 for intended CS major. But we ware so wrong! Guess CPP must have received many applications this year from high achieving students - just like UCR. I saw a couple of CS admitted with GPA >4. So, my son is also on “pending decision” status like some of you. Hope that helps you! I assume it = “waitlist” to us.
@tintinhope: CPP is only a safety for non-impacted majors. My niece was waitlisted 2 years ago as a local for an impacted major. Tough year.
I’m an incoming freshman for whoever asked. I should have applied with an alternative major since CS is impacted!!
Has anyone called to see when decisions will actually be released? I’m beyond confused because of how long my application has been at “ready for decision”.
Well commitment day is May 1st so you could be seeing admission replies as late as April maybe.
“Ready for decision” does not mean you are automatically wait-listed, it does mean anything at all besides they finished reviewing the info you’ve given them and are ready to send you admission letters.
So definitely hold on! There is nothing wrong with getting accepted later, t’s just stressful waiting for the outcome!
Also I can’t find the page, but I remember seeing “acceptance rates by major” and CS has like the smallest percentage, so it’s definitely heavily impacted. Good Luck!
Yes they are definitely still doing acceptances, my boyfriend called to check.
Major: Undeclared
GPA: 3.6
SAT (new): 1270
Local area: Nope, I’m from San Diego county
Accepted 02/24/17
I sent in my application to Cal Poly Pomona four months ago and I’m still waiting for a reply. I’ve been on ready for decision for about three months
GPA:3.45
ACT: 27
In-State African American Female
Animal Science/ Pre-Veterinary
Why is it taking so long? When am I going to hear back from them?
Impacted majors take longer than the non-impacted majors. Local applicants have priority but you should hear by April. Yes, CPP takes forever with their decisions.
I don’t know the order in which they accept students, but I was accepted 2-23-17
Computer Engineering
GPA: 4.1
SAT (new): 1250
Local: No, Kern County
108 i apologize - i used wrong term, i actually meant CPP would be a match but turned out to be not safe for that matter at all! folks, still hope and hang it there.... & congrats to the high stats (4+) students!
@abfern I applied with a 3.73 and a 1280 SAT.
@jesse’sgirl no, freshman applicant
