Fall 2017 Applied/Accepted Thread!

My application status has said “Ready for Decision” for over a month and it’s driving me crazy. Kind of glad to know that there are others in the same boat.

D was accepted - Business Admin 2/23
In State - Not local
GPA 3.73
ACT Superscore 31 (31M/31E)

Will not attend.

Has anyone got in for aerospace engineering? And what’s the stats for first time freshmen selecting this major. Thx!

still here, anxiously checking my portal everyday until I see the status of my application change sigh. Incoming Freshmen, Animal Health Science Major :frowning:

S was accepted in December to CPP
Music Education
Got financial package this week (only loans; we don’t qualify for aid).

In state but it is not his local Cal State so impaction rules apply.
3.95 CSU/UC adjusted GPA
29 ACT; four APs and lots of honors classes.
Cal States don’t even look at your extracurriculars!

He also passed prescreens and auditioned for USC and UCLA and other Cal States who have stronger music programs.
Just got admitted to UC Irvine this week.
Already admitted to Chapman.
He has been admitted to CSU Fullerton but waiting on music (again, not his local school so he made it in with his eligibility index). Waiting on CSUN Music as well.

If he gets admitted to USC or UCLA, he will attend one of those schools.

A friend got rejected from CPP for civil engineering…
GPA: 3.73
SAT: 1800

Growing a tad impatient…what’s going on CPP?

I have no idea, i was accepted Feb 24 but my boyfriend and friend are still waiting

they’re lagging so bad

@MsSpiderGirl maybe Pomona is like SLO…? They post the acceptances first than wait and do the denials a couple of weeks later? I have no experience with Pomona, but it seems that’s what happened at SLO this year. pretty sad for lots of great students IMO

I hope not. My friend is already devastated she didn’t get into SLO. It’s crazy how low the acceptance rate is there now.

Pomona needs to step up their game…I need good news after SDSU and SLO both giving me the denial

@MsSpiderGirl @marshmallow24 Very tough at SLO this year… none of my daughter’s friends got in with super high stats, all over 4.1. I think the only thing that saved my daughter is she didn’t apply to Bio or Engineering and had the “desired” 10 semesters of Math… Good Luck to everyone.

I got accepted two weeks ago.
Major: Poli Sci
GPA: 3.7
SAT: 1280

My boyfriend called and they said they’re doing rolling admissions until the end of April.

The top 4 CSU’s that got the most applicants this year also have a larger number of impacted majors this year than last so none of them can be considered safety schools anymore really.

  1. CSULB got over 100,000 applicants.
  2. SDSU
  3. Cal Poly SLO
  4. Cal Poly Pomona

Their admission decisions are also really slow this year and slightly harsh. My good friend didn’t get into Cal Poly SLO as a kinesiology major with a 4.05 and a 1230 SAT, and I didn’t even get into Long Beach.

@hlwalters what were your stats for long beach?

I’m still ready for decision. This is taking way too long…

Agreed!

Do any of you know if I’d be able to switch my main major to my alternate major that I applied to. Little did I know that Animal Science was the major I should have put as my major and not Animal Health Science. I have not been accepted yet, but I was wondering if that was something I should/could change before getting accepted/rejected.
