NVM WROng major!*** I chose science and technology.
@Themathaw . Not too sure. I would expect them to send all decisions at the same time.
The housing portal is awful. Think this could be a warning to just wait for UC decisions to come out.
@CopperlineX2
CPP has a (low rating) from a student housing perspective grade from A-D = C minus if that is your point, your correct!
They will have new dorms for 2019, but too late for my kiddo. The stench was ungodly in the summer. I’ve been told it helps to get away from bottom floors where most water damage occurs.
BTW, Fullerton Housing was really nice in comparison, if this is helpful to others. The Best housing I’ve seen is listed below (all very nice, but 1-4 highest to lowest)
1 - Sonoma state
2 -Cal State San Marcos
3 -Cal State Fullerton
4 -Long Beach State
@CopperlineX2 Did you actually get the Housing Portal to work. I tried a couple of times and got an error and gave up for now. It also seems really odd that it appears that most acceptances have not gone out yet and the Housing Portal is taking applications (well maybe it is not…).
@OCDDad finally into app, but appears I am waiting in some sort of line to continue. Only doing this to avoid bottom floor and triples. I’ll post if this app gets completed and time stamped.
So I went to check my status for cpp, and it had a button that said “Accept/Decline Admission Offer” so I clicked on it and it basically said that decision making is not occurring yet but that my ECD was waived. Anyone else got this???
Hope I’m not too late.

Invitation to honors for CSULB but no acceptance yet
@CopperlineX2 Are you applying for CPP housing and paying the deposit after accepting admission or just in case you child accepts admission? Do you recommend applying for housing before accepting admission?
Hi Everyone,
I’ve noticed that a lot of freshman students received provisional admits but not many transfer students have. Do they usually send out freshman decisions first? My portal still says application received. I’m non local and in a non-impacted major.
@yandhow b/c of freshman housing requirement it is recommended to apply for housing early. No submitting acceptance yet. Almost done with app, 5 hours later! Will have to submit written cancellation to get refund and nullify contract if accepted to 1st choice school.
@CopperlineX2 Thanks! We learned my daughter was provisionally admitted this weekend, did not occur to us to even think about housing yet.
Stats for those keeping data:
Freshman Applicant
CSU/UC weighted GPA 3.8?
SAT 1260
EI just over 4300
In State-not local
Accepted CPP Major: Visual Arts (not impacted)
For most CSU’s housing, it is first come so if you can secure the housing prior to officially enrolling, then it is something to consider. @CopperlineX2 is ahead of the game.
I wouldn’t have gone thru the trouble if it wasn’t the CSU my son prefers & didn’t have such a funky housing situation. CSUF has plenty of new beautiful dorms, but avoiding 91 freeway the other 3 years would be a plus.
I’m a transfer student too and my status still says “Application Received”.
where do you click to release the sbsa test score
@CopperlineX2. I called Housing yesterday and they said that they were aware of a glitch with the application for incoming Freshmen. I tried it this morning (about 5:30 am so little user traffic) and it worked fine. I was also able to indicate that I would pay the $450 deposit at a later time. The application was submitted and I received a confirmation email. Do you see a downside to agreeing to pay the deposit later (e.g, after my son decides 100% if he is going to CPP)?
EDIT - I received this email from CPP Housing:
"We have approved your request for deferment of the $450 initial payment from your account.
If you receive a housing assignment, your $450 initial payment will be included with your Fall Rent charges."
Note my son won’t qualify for financial aid and I did NOT indicate any type of hardship. I just asked for the payment deferral and it was instantly granted. I can’t see why someone would pay the $450 now and go through the trouble of getting a refund…
EDIT 2 - It was reaffirming that the Housing Application knew my son was admitted as an Industrial Engineering major.
@berjango good to know I’m not the only one!
Are you local? I’m not and so I’m a bit worried about being accepted. My G.P.A isnt bad, it’s a 3.5 but I’m not in an impacted major
