for fall quarter of freshman year, i hear to not really get involved in anything and have been advised to take 3 classes. i am taking 3 classes but i want to start volunteering too. i'm keeping my eyes open for new clubs as well although i have interests in the same ones from high school.

to what extent do you believe to adjustment to college life in the fall by a lighter course load and perhaps no involvement on campus?

Depends entirely on the person. Figure it out for yourself. Drop things. Add courses. Add volunteer hours or ECs... all up to you.

Taking the 3 classes is generally recommended, but I've never heard of not getting involved in ANYTHING. That's absurd.

With the Activities Fair in the fall, you SHOULD get involved in something. It's a great way to meet more people as well. It's not like three classes will take up all your waking time.

yeah, relax a bit and get adjusted. I had too much fun my fall quarter. Pulled a 3.1, but then the following quarter.. I got pwned again. for a 2.8. But i'm "adjusted" now. I know what I'm doing, and the whole time management issue isn't so much a problem anymore. (3.5 Spring quarter)
