Fall Orientation for University of Michigan

When I registered online for orientation at U of M, the only date left was August 31st so that is the date I signed up for. I found out that I can get the date changed to sometime earlier but we have already made flight arrangements, hotel, etc and I am wondering if it is worth all the hassle to change dates. Will I get stuck with really boring classes or classes with horrible professors if I stick with August 31st deadline?

I would try to get an earlier date if i were you. They keep some classes locked but you’ll have bad timings. it’d just be a super busy/hectic day. but it is all in your hands. if it’s too hard to change dates then don’t worry about it.

do you think july 15 early enough to get the times i want ?

It is usually not too difficult to get classes but often the only discussion sections that will be open will be at less desirable times. The instructor for the discussion section is usually not identified until later so it is more a question of the times. I had a late orientation and had a late afternoon time for discussion - it worked out OK because I had a great TA and made some good frends in the class.
