Why has all the chatter stopped on this thread??? I know you guys still have some comments about your financial aid or the financial aid office, come on lets hear them! I am interested to see how your experience compares to mine.

Oh and all of you guys that are mad about your financial aid not being the amount that you have been getting, I suggest you call governor Scott and tell him to stop taking money away from the university system. This is a state problem NOT a university problem. The university can not help that 10’s of millions of dollars are being cut every year. The state elected Mr. Scott so now we all have to live with our decision.

^Gov. Scott may be phoned at 850-717-9337 and he may be emailed at: [Email the Governor](Email the Governor)

For starters to save money for Florida’s existing 11 public universities, everyone please tell Gov. Scott to veto the creation now of a 12th state university which the state can’t afford now and which would take away money from existing 11 universities including FSU. Scott says he’s not decided what to do yet and that only people in Tampa and Lakeland are concerned with this 12th university bill and not the rest of the state! I think he has been drinking too much Perrier; Florida taxpayers do not want the costly 12th university now and he should veto the bill. Please contact Scott today and tell him to veto 12th university bill (SB 1994) right now.

Tally- I did send an email and I called a few weeks ago. Thanks for providing the info. To the previous poster, as for calling Gov. Scott about my daughters financial aid package, you can’t lay her particular situation at his feet. And that is all I will say about it. I do feel for everyone on here that is having to face harsh realities this year when it comes to financial aid. I hope you all get your packages figured out.

Janna- If you will go back and read my post, you will see that no where in it did I suggest you (or anyone else) go and “lay” your individual situation at the governor’s feet. We all know that will get you no where. I was simply stating that he (the state government) is the reason everyone is getting less and less financial aid. You (or anyone else) appealing to the individual university is not going to get you anywhere, the system as a whole must change, and that starts at the top. This is why I suggested that EVERYONE call and voice their opinions. If you don’t, it will only get worse, we all know that education and public safety offices are the first things to go when they cut the budget. If university funding goes down, tuition goes up, remember that.

And no, I am not in anyway affiliated with FSU, I am just throwing my .02 out there

I never thought you were affiliated with FSU. If you were you would have known that my daughters particular situation has nothing to do with budget cuts at all. But, thank you for weighing in. That’s what these forums are supposed to be for. :)
