Fall vs Winter

Does applying in winter vs fall hurt your chances getting into a university?
I’m apply to a stretch university and was planning on applying for fall 2018, but I thought why not just apply for winter 2018 that way I don’t have to wait a year.

I’ve already graduated, so it’s not like my grades are going to change. But, I’m worried about applying so close to the deadline (oct 1). Is there usually a lower acceptance rate in the winter? It’s already a stretch school and I don’t want to hurt my chances. I’ll wait for fall if it’ll be better.

Any advice?
Thank you!

@owlsaremybuddies Before applying to schools just make sure they accept transfers for the semester you would like to attend. If they do, then definitely apply for the winter semester. Schools often have spots open in the winter because the lose some students who may leave the university for a majority of reasons. In some cases, it can be an advantage

At some places, it actually is easier to be admitted as a freshman if you apply to start in the second semester or the summer.
