Familiarity of DU

Just a small survey, for whomever decides to reply.

:p

How prestigious is the Uni. of Denver (DU), in comparison to the Ivy League and, so called, quasi-Ivy League?

How well known is it outside of Colorado?

From outside of Colorado, what is the general stereotype of this school?

It’s relatively well known outside of Colorado-the school has large contingents from Chicago, the Twin Cities and California.

Also there is a large contingent of DU alumni in DC.

I agree with the above poster, there are many DU graduates working within the DC area. Where I live in New York, it has a decent reputation (from those who’ve heard of it). Well known among lacrosse parents.

Obviously, it has an even better reputation within Colorado.

S2 (my DU grad) now lives and works in DC. But while in chicago recently, he attended an event for DU alumni there with one of his old floor mates. Very well attended–lots of connections to be made for those who want them. Alums make a point of helping one another.

One of my son’s professors from DU was in town this week–my son met him for breakfast and accompanied him when he went to testify in front of a congressional committee.
