<p>this year ive been struggling with a lot of family issues. not to get too much into it but my sister was hospitalized for depression, my dad lost his job, and then my uncle died. it was really hard to concentrate on school because of all this going on, so my grades have dropped slightly (instead of mostly a's with a couple b's im now getting mostly b's with a couple a's) do you think it would be worthwhile for me to mention my family issues to my guidance couselor who can then mention them in the rec. he has to write for me.</p>
<p>yea for sure. But also remember that, the university wants those who do well all around in whatever circumstances… but other than that, its worthwhile tellin ur councillor</p>
<p>Please do talk this over with your counselor. In addition to making a note of this in a letter of recommendation, he should also be able to suggest resources in and out of school that will help you through this tough time.</p>
