This must be one of the weirdest and most ballsy questions but:
Would it be weird and unprofessional to ask a famous alumni of whom I've never met to write me a college recommendation letter if I pleaded my case to them?
Just a thought (if I hunted down their contact info).

Yes, that would be weird and unprofessional, for obvious reasons. How can someone who doesn’t know you at all recommend you for anything?

Not only that but it won’t do you any good. You’d be better off asking the plumber next door with an 11th grade education who’s known you since you were a baby for a rec. It would carry more weight with the committee. Your regional rep. might save the letter from the celebrity but it wouldn’t get you in.

It’s not WHO writes the letter, it’s about how well the writer can write about you. Thus, sue is absolutely correct

Yes, that would be absolutely weird and unprofessional. Also, it would necessarily be COMPLETELY shallow and prove nothing about you as a person, other than that you’re focused on fame/prestige and feel that stunts like this help you get into college. Apologies for being harsh - but it’s a really bad idea.
