Alright so i have an upcoming interview (tomorrow) for Vanderbilt at a high end hotel at some restaurant poolside. Now ive already been to two other interviews for Upenn and Northwestern at Starbucks and a small mediterranian restaurant respectively, and I wore a nice button up long sleeve shirt with khakis and vans, should i wear something similar to this interview or should i go nicer? Nicer as in a dress shirt with dress pants and dress shoes and maybe a bow tie.

A bow tie is a bold fashion statement. Is this something that’s a normal part of you? If you wear the tie, a jacket is a must. If not, then I’d skip the bow tie and keep the rest.

I think the bow tie is a bit too much, but sneakers are a little too casual.

I love the bow tie… If it’s you, do it. But poolside? Can’t see a bow tie in that environment.

Are you George Will?

It’s poolside, so it is more casual even if it is at a nice hotel. I would wear a polo shirt or dress shirt and a pair of non-jeans pants.

The question is would you expect the interviewer to pay for your drinks/food?
