I get all my water from my tap-water filtration system thingamabober.

Read an article from Yahoo! that ranked the taste of bottled water, and the top 5 were from these obscure companies I never heard of. Surprisingly, the well-known companies like Dasani, Ice Mountain, Evian, etc. all did horribly, and I think there was even one that ranked last.

I watched the video. It was interesting and informative, but it’s not like I’m never going to buy a bottle of water again for the rest of my life. IMO, some brands of bottled water DO taste better than tap water. I went to a science museum once for a school trip and there were 3 drinking stations that were unlabeled. I tried all 3 and liked one in particular. The one I liked was bottled water, I later found out. The other ones were tap water and filtered tap water. It’s personal taste, and also the convenience of bottled water that makes it so popular, but I do think that marketing plays a role in this industry and many just like the design of the bottle.

The tap water in my city tastes fine. It just tastes a tiny bit “metallic”, like you said. Other than that, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. I usually boil tap water, let it cool, and pour it into a reusable water bottle. Sometimes, I’ll get bottled water.

My tap tastes OK in my city, but I spent a small chunk of my life living in Kansas and we got our water out of an underground well. It tasted like dirt… We bought a lot of bottled water there.

I usually stick with Poland Spring but once in a while I’ll indulge with a Metromint or Archer Farms flavored water, like spearmint.

The worst is when stores or organizations give away free water bottles with their logo on it as some sort of promotion or giveaway; it always tastes terrible. I don’t know how they make it so bad.

We boil it to kill bacteria, just in case there are any. Better safe than sorry, plus I can make tea with the boiled water when it’s still hot. When it’s cool, I can just bottle it up for school the next day.
