Farewell Princeton...you shall always be dear to me...

The moment finally happened. I stood in line at the post office today, and I sent in my reply to Penn's offer of admission priority mail, along with my deposit.

With that, the college admissions process has finally ended, after years of planning, hard work, and anxiety. I should probably be posting this on the Penn board, but I have decided to pay homage to the school- and the discussion board- that has ruled my college admissions life for the last 10 months.

You know, Princeton is a really awesome school that I love, but what made me the most excited about it were the people on this board. Thank you all for being so awesome and supportive. We really were a family. If there is one lasting thing I will take from all of this, it will definitely be you guys :)

Although I did not get in, I do not regret what I have done- given the chance, I would do it all over again. What a ride it has been. In fact, I'm not terribly dissappointed, cause I got into a school every bit as awesome in its own way, if not more, and I'll only be an hour away.

I had been so looking forward to that coffee chat in Frist Center next fall, and you know what, I still am. We will be having that chat next year, no matter which schools we are at. I, for one, am off to a school that I love just as much, for both similar and different reasons as I love Princeton. I shall be only an hour by train (Philly's main train station is only a 15 minute walk from Penn's campus), so I will be visiting all of you who are gonna be at Princeton next year. And for all of you who are going to be attending classes in Cambridge, New Haven, Hanover, Ithaca, and elsewhere, it may be a bit harder to meet, but I'm sure it'll happen.

So with this last post, I am officially no longer a member of the Princeton board. Although I will usually be on the Penn board from now on, I'll still come back and visit. Take care guys :)

Princeton, I shall always have a soft spot for you (except during the Penn-Princeton basketball game of course :p). Farewell...

why were you up this late? :)

you're always a member

but yeah.... coffee chat is a must

Aww, man...you're going to have such a good four years at Penn. And you're right, meets-and-greets, visits mand catch-ups are a must, so I'm not even worried about never meeting any of you. Have fun at Penn (you're right, it's a great school), and if you see a random glasses-wearin' black dude wandering around Penn with the most confused look on his face...stop him and say, "Heyyyyy, philip!" and help him out, hehe :)

Penn is awesome, you'll have a ton of fun there. BTW, 30th street station is really only a 5minute walk (and a 2 minute run when it's 10:28 at night and the last train is leaving at 10:29... not that I've had that experience or anything).

Hey all - it's been a long time since I've posted, but I promise I haven't dropped off the face of the earth. =)

I second Jay. Haha...there are songs I can't listen to (Joshua Radin, in case philntex couldn't guess) and pictures I can't see without thinking of Princeton. It was always - and still is - my sentimental favorite. A lot of that is probably due to the amount of time I spent on the Princeton CC board, focusing all of my attention on all things Princeton and [prematurely] getting caught up in the Orange Bubble.

I don't know that I'd call myself an ex-member of the Princeton board (hey, I donated way too many of my posts to Princeton's post count for that ;)), but I doubt I'll be around as much. Catch me on AIM, though, and we'll definitely meet up at Frist at least once next fall. We'll have to coordinate that.

So, until then.....cheers!
:)

Ahhh, kebree! I'm listening to Josh Radin right now...and thinking about last fall. Moreso than Princeton itself, listening to his songs reminds me of the good times we all (have) had on the board and off.

Frist=definitely gonna happen. Don't even qeustion it ;)

Oh, and...COME HOME! Haha. Europe...pfft...who needs it? :p

i dont post on the board anymore either :(

although, what can i say folks? im glad that i dont have any regrets about where im going, ive fallen head over heels in love with berkeley and cant fathom why i would ever wanna go anywhere else...so...yea...

i miss u guys!!! anytime ur in cali, whether it be norcal or socal, gimme a call...ill show u around :)

Haha i used to be in love with berkeley, but my priorities shifted, and it fell from favor. That, plus i didnt get into EECS. Still, it's a great school- you can't go wrong as an in-stater.
