<p>My daughter is will be a freshman some where this year attending college. Is it required for a permanent & totally diasbled veteran's family to declare supplemental nontaxable income on the form? Also what is the threshold for SS benefits to be declared. My wifes income which is 35k a year. We also qualify as chapter 33 & 35 recipients. Where do the numbers apply and where do they not? Looking for expert advice. Thank you, in advance, for your expertise and consideration.</p>

<p>Veterans disability benefits are reported as income. SS benefits are only reported if you have to put them on your tax return - and then they are not reported separately; they are included in the reported AGI.</p>
