I either want to go to LIM college or FIT for Fashion Merchandising, and I just wanted to know if anybody had been to either of this and what your experience was.
Also, what are the standards for getting in? My college GPA is a 2.8 (I believe) right now, and my ACT score was a 25.
Which is harder to get into? It's my dream to go to fashion school in New York, and I'm finally going to try. I'll be 23 when I apply (Fall 2014), so I really hope I'm not one of the oldest at the schools!

FMM at FIT is the oldest in the nation, and is the most competitive program at the school. LIM is an alternative route to this, but I bet both programs are great since both schools have a good reputation and are strictly based on the fashion business, which will prepare you for the industry. I fell in love with FMM at FIT, however I have yet to look at LIM. If possible, visit both schools, compare them, list out the pros and cons, then choose. I’m sure you’ll be a good fit in either school. Unfortunately, I think your GPA may be a bit too low for FIT. Don’t worry about the ACT because FIT does not look at the score. LIM might glance at it but I wouldn’t stress over it since 80% of the applicants are admitted. Your best bet is to call someone from admissions. Good luck!
