Fast reliable delivery mechanism for apps

My D's school will not give the transcripts to the students. So, for paper college apps that require all the material to be mailed in one package, D assembles the package and gives to counselor. He puts his recommendation and sends it to another department that puts the transcript and mails it. I was suggesting that I would give a prepaid Fedex cover to put all the material in and give to the counselor. However the school doesn't have a Fedex drop box. Is there any other way of sending the app that we could track?
Since it is a huge school and there are several hops I would be comfortable if there is a reliable way of tracking the app.
Please suggest alternatives.

Thanks,

Postal service - USPS has tracking service. You may want to check with them. Their priority mail has fixed rates also.

some applicants put in a self addressed stamped postcard in with their app. When the school receives the app, it stamps the postcard and mails it back to the applicant.

When we did my D’s apps last year, all of them were sent electronically through common app and it was a great way to track everything. The transcripts were all sent separately from the counselor. I would think that you should be able to do that with paper apps as well. We generally found that as long as the college gets the app, all the supporting documents could come later. But we always checked with the college first.

You don’t really need to track them from the post office. Most colleges will start a file and let you know if things are missing. If they are things from the school you will not get in trouble if they are late.

When my D applied in '08, she did what ellemenope did with the postcards and it worked great!! She was sending an arts supplement with two separate CD’s and a music resume. Every college she applied to stamped the postcard and returned it to her. It was a great relief to know that her extra materials, in which she put in a lot of work, got where they needed to go.

I was surprised that one engineering college emailed us due to missing science teacher recommendation. (They get a lot of apps - they could have just put it on the No pile). Of course that made me worry about the other apps too. The Guidance center checked and felt sure that only one college had the oops. It still stressed me.

You probably are stuck with whatever method is used at the hs. Two years ago some of the colleges had websites where students could check to ensure all requirements were submitted. I assume it’s even more common now.

Never had a problem with the post office. But UPS? Watch out!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
Finally, we used USPS Priority mail with Tracking.
