Fastweb

Two colleges that spoke with us about their max on merit scholarships suggested I look into Fastweb. No sooner than I register, spam after spam after spam flood my inbox. What kind of deal do the colleges have with this setup? Fastweb seems to simply be a clearing house for every 'make a fast buck for college' scam out there. Shouldn't they know of whom they are referring? Do they can a fee for the referral?

Funny I got there through the same path. It was at a college fair in minneapolis.

I have no facts, just supposition. In the internet world contacts are worth money. If fastweb can get spam and junkmail into the hands of the enough teenagers they can earn a living off referral kickbacks. And some of these scholarship sites are clearly living off of the spam hits they generate, so the spam feeds the spam. Somewhere in this mess im hoping my son can find some actual money, or at least a free t-shirt.

I don’t know but I can say that I found every scholarship I got through fastweb a few years ago. Including a 20k and many smaller ones. You just have to comb thorough the crap.
