What were your favorite themes or subjects covered in AP World?

For me, I would say the Cold War era and the Age of Enlightenment were the best because they were easy to appreciate, and I liked the whole style of how they differed from previous eras in history.

I’ve always liked the Greeks and the Romans, though probably just because I have an extra appreciation for them after spending an entire year on basically just those two civilizations in 7th grade. I figure they actually got government right and, in the case of the Romans, their technology was amazing - they were only maybe 300 years of innovation away from us today… Had the empire not collapsed we could be who-knows-where in terms of technology.

I also liked the Renaissance because people began to break free of the restraints that had fettered them to stagnation for a millennium.

Everything in the West post-1800 or so was particularly fascinating, but maybe only because I had never learned it before. I’m with you there, Eddie, the Cold War era was great.

You know it’s funny, because I do like the Mongols a lot, but my teacher has like a man crush and we spent like 1 month on the mongols alone, so it got pretty boring eventually, haha. Buttttt, it did help a lot for the AP exam!

I totally loved learning about the Classical Age of China and India. Perhaps because I can actually understand and connect to those topics. I also like the Age of Exploration, Industrial Revolution, and Cold War!
