Sidenote: I saw The Mars Volta live, and OMFG.

It was an absolute eargasm.

They played about 3 official songs in a 2-hour show. Most of it was just improv (drum solos, guitar solos, etc.)

Holy crap. Incredible.

^i just started listening to Portugal. The Man recently!
I like them, they're different in a really good way.

I put Sleeping at Last, Coldplay, Michael Gungor Band, Jason Morant, Dashboard Confessional.

I was also tempted to put down Mat Kearney, Death Cab for Cutie, Postal Service. But hey, I'll pretty much give any band a chance. Haha.

Supereagle10, I thought I was the only Explosions in the Sky fan... you rock.

Anyone here heard of the Mystery Jets? I really like them and their song with Laura Marling, Young Love. It's nice.

dpattz: funny you should say that. Just got 'Making Dens' and 'Twenty One' yesterday. Young Love is a good song, cool video too.

Also love Liverpool natives The Wombats....you have to be in the right mood though...sometimes things are a bit too cheery.

Does anyone know if the Arctics are coming out with a new CD in February? I saw that somewhere and got really excited.

LOL! I love Young Love! I thought I was the only one who knew Mystery Jets...

I love Mystery Jets! Lol, but I first heard about them from Daniel Radcliffe (I think he was doing some interview for OotP on Fuse, that music show, a bit like MTV).
He listens to some great bands.
