Favorite Movies of all Time

Forrest Gump IS amazing.

I’m surprised I forgot about that. The score is amazing. And I love Tom Hanks.

[YouTube - Golden Globes 2009: Kate Winslet Actress in Picture Drama](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aS4OjocfPE4)

^Kate’s GG acceptance speech. Skip to around 45 seconds for the beginning of the speech. Skip to around 3:00 for her talking about Leo and Sam.

off the top of my head i am going to have to go with forgetting sarah marshall, rocky 4, and role models.

thanks! OMG, that was super cute. leo blowing her a kiss…i died.

had anyone said A Beautiful Mind yet? because i nominate that. i cry every time :]

Another James Horner film score! But then again, James Horner usually scores James Cameron and Ron Howard movies.

The ending to A Beautiful Mind is so sweet. :]

buffalo dreams is a sweet one

Dark Knight, 27 Dresses, the Proposal, Pirates <3, the Mummy, 10 Things I Hate About You, He’s Just Not That Into You, My Best Friend’s Wedding. & more! <3

I can tell that you’re a normal person by your movie taste.

@whoever said A Beautiful Mind…it came out like years ago, idk why you said “yet,” but I saw it…pretty good, not spectacular, but I liked it.

Also @FUZZLE, I LOVED KATE WINSLET in Little Children, a movie that explored many of the same themes Revolutionary Road, but was better (and Jackie Earl Haley is CHILLING–it’s palpable; he creeped me out). Really enjoyed the film, except the narration bothered me at parts.

Sorry to sound snobby, but about the only movie that can come close to favorites on here is Dark Knight…though even that isn’t amazing or anything.

Okay, perhaps I should say some movies…(consulting fb…)
-Casablanca
-The Graduate
-The Usual Suspects
-Michael Clayton
-Into The Wild
-Annie Hall
-The French Connection
-Memento
-Children of Men (so underrated)
-There Will Be Blood (better than NCFOM!)
-Fargo

-Frozen River
-Sugar
-The Visitor
-Amelie
-The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
-This is England

This Year: The Hurt Locker, Up in the Air, Inglorious Basterds, An Education

Um, I really need to catch up on classic films. Like ridiculously fast. This is what this semester and summer is for.

IDK, there are lots more, but my fb isn’t updated…

“idk why you said “yet””

i said ‘has anyone said A Beautiful Mind yet’. i meant before on this thread.

& i love children of men, too :] clive owen <3

^^I like your list!

And I’ve seen all your current year favorites except for An Education WHICH I WANT TO SEE. I love Peter Sarsgaard. <3

^Wait Fuzzle, did you see my comment directed at you!

And An Education is awesome. Saarsgaard (spelling?) is this awesome mix of creepy and charming, Alfred Molina is underrated as Jenny’s (I think that is her name) father, and Carey Mulligan, as I’m sure you heard, is sublime. I really loved the film and it was engaging and thought-provoking. SEE IT :D

^^oh sry, i still dont get it, but I have seen A Beautiful Mind; it’s good!

CHILDREN OF MEN is one of the most intense, captivating movies I have seen. So underrated and I love love love it. And Clive Owen was GREAT in it. And the cinematography is STUNNING. And that single shot when he enters the war-torn land to find the baby…OMG.

@fuzzle—i creeped our your post.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Milk, Cidade De Deus, Kiss Me Deadly, Paris Je’Taime, Beauty and the Beast, The Graduate, Psycho, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Brick, J

ChocolateBanana, just turn on Turner Classic Movies! They have commercial free classics all day, every day. Not all of them are the best, but most of them are pretty good.

Has anyone here seen The Wind that Shakes the Barley? I’ve been meaning to watch that for a while. And I’m glad someone mentioned Il y a longtemps que je t’aime. I’d been meaning to watch that, but it always takes me like 2 years to finally watch movies. In this case though, I’ve been looking for french films to watch, so I’ll watch it at once.

Looking at my list, I’m now realizing how all over my taste in movies is.

500 Days of Summer means more to me than other people because my ex was definitely like Tom in that movie. So disillusioned.

I love Kate Winslet, ESPECIALLY in ESOTSM. That may be my favorite movie. Michel Gondry is so creative.

Milk should have won Best Picture, I agree. But Slumdog Millionaire had so much hype going into the Academy Awards. And yeah, Penn was better than Rourke in The Wrestler (my least favorite Aronofsky film).

Shawshank Redemption is so great. You should definitely check it out.

Clue is one of the funniest movies ever! :D

Many people say Sleepless in Seattle is better. Maybe I like You’ve Got Mail better because I saw it first?

Well… which films HAVEN’T you seen? Then I’ll pick the best out of that list.

“OMG! CLUE IS SO HILARIOUS!”
it really is. i wish more people knew about it, lol.

loved donnie darko, too. it was such a mind-trippp.

OMG, recently discovered amazing film:anti-christ. it’s intellectual, it’s deep, it’s artistic, it’s shocking, it’s freaking scary as sheeet. not for the faint of heart, but definitely a favorite. it made me really like willem dafoe.

oh, & this is copied from my facebook profile, if anyone cares, haha. pretty un-updated, though…

Titanic. The Notebook. A Beautiful Mind. Twilight  . Tristan & Isolde. White Oleander. Remember The Titans. The Other Boleyn Girl. Ghost. Changeling. Rosemary’s Baby. Alive. Se7en. My Cousin Vinny. A Walk To Remember. Dirty Dancing:Havana Nights. Mona Lisa Smile. The Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Donnie Darko. Across The Universe. Superbad. 10,000 B.C… Scary Movies I & II. The Prestige. American Psycho. Dead Poets Society. Stand By Me. St. Elmo’s Fire. The Breakfast Club. Pretty In Pink. Sixteen Candles. Fast Times At Ridgemont High. The Outsiders.

I’ve seen Remember the Titans like 50 times. I can quote that movie as it goes along.

My Cousin Vinny I’ve also seen many times. Though, most of the time I just catch the ending.

I want to see American Psycho. Actually, I’ll torrent it now.

Ah 80s teen flicks. Gotta love them. <3

A good amount of the films you said, that I did NOT mention. Probably the more obscure(ISH) and foreign films.

And wow, I don’t know directors as well as you! I sort of know some.

Antichrist looked like torture-porn/gore/Saw-like…so I have ZERO desire to see it.

-Cidade De Deus= Frequently rated as the best movie of the last 10 years.
-Kiss Me Deadly= Influenced Pulp Fiction and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. A lot of movies mention Mickey Spillane’s books, or character “Mike Hammer” from this film.
-Brick= neo film noir. Has Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the protagonist!
-Ladri Di Biciclette= CLASSIC film. Epitome of Italian neorealism
-The Royal Tenenbaums (or any other Wes Anderson movie)= great writing of current American society
-Man on Wire= Documentary that won Best Doc at Oscars in 2009. It’s about the man who tight-roped across the World Trade Center Towers in the 70s (or 80s). It’s gorgeous and inspiring.
-The Science of Sleep= it’s also directed by Michel Gondry (who directed ESotSM)… so it has the same creative quirkiness
-The Fountain= My favorite Aronofsky film. Just even visually, it’s a work of art.

Heard of Brick, Man of Wire, and have seen PART OF The Royal Tenenbaums (must watch throughout once!!!)

Science of sleep sounds familiar.

Okay. This list is on my mental list and Netflix soon! Or just torrented or something haha. THANKS! I’ll report to you lol
