As I sit here in the rainy season in Seattle I find I love a hot chocolate, especially at night. In the summer I love iced orange juice.
I wonder what other people favor.
I love hot chocolate most of the time but try to only drink caffeine prior to noon so it doesn’t keep me awake.
Love fresh fruit juices as a special treat any time. Love mulled apple cider — makes me think of the fall and winter holidays. Also love eggnog, hot or cold in small amounts—rich and tasty!
This past summer I drank a lot of strong, iced green tea. Now I find myself drinking more Chai. I get a turmeric spice blend you add to black tea and milk.
Harney and sons cinnamon sunset tea in the colder months.
I don’t stray much at all from one cup of coffee in the morning and water throughout the day. Not a beverage person.
That said a winter comfort at night is something my mom would make us when we were young especially if we had a cold. Warm milk with a little sugar and butter. Super comforting. Hot chocolate without the chocolate!
(she also gave us honey and whiskey if we were sick but I don’t drink that now!!!)
Like @abasket, I’m a morning coffee and water rest of the day person, but I’m an evening artic cold martini or Manhattan type of gal, whatever the season.
(Sorry, nothing non-alcoholic to contribute. Even my eggnog has a festive shot of good rum.)
Summer- Ice tea
Fall- sparkling cider
Winter- hot chocolate
Spring- lemonade or ice tea
Water
I’m a green tea or chai person who prefers my drinks iced in the warmer months and hot in the cooler months. Ice water with lemon slices is also refreshing during the summer.
Valencia orange juice, whenever I can get it. Water and dietCoke most days, year round.
Strawberry lemonade in the warm weather months, with or without an extra kick.
Hot chocolate malt Ovaltine in fall and winter.
Summer - iced coffee
Fall - apple cider
Winter - hot chocolate
Spring - no drink comes to mind but I have a tradition of getting a small Dairy Queen cone on the first really warm spring day
I drink lots of various teas. — iced in summer, hot in winter. My D22 loves boba tea so I indulge with her in that too.
I drink hot chocolate almost year round
I don’t drink coffee or tea. Don’t care for hot chocolate. I drink water mostly.
However, I was in Ross a couple of years ago and found some coconut lime soda. I bought one bottle. It was divine, so I went back to buy all that was left, three more bottles. I can’t seem to find anymore anywhere. I actually think all my favorite drinks are summer drinks. Call me a redneck, but convenience store pina colada icees are the bomb, along with cherry limeades from Sonic. In moderation of course!
Ice coffee in summer. Even better, Thai ice coffee. But that is a calorie indulgence. Otherwise, mineral water with a small amount of fruit juice added for color and flavor.
Hot cider in fall. I had a jug of Trader Joes spiced cider in the basement from last year that I just served to some folks outside on a cold night. Heaven!
Winter, after dinner, decafe chai
Spring? In the upper midwest, no different from winter. decaf chai
Never heard of decaf chai. Sounds delicious.
Winter - coffee
Spring - coffee
Summer - iced coffee
Fall - coffee
Seriously that’s what I drink 90% of the time. I like seltzer sometimes with a spritz of lime. I don’t need the calories from juice. Never drink soda. I love cocoa, but only drink it after serious winter exercise like cross country skiing or snow shoeing.
I got addicted to Valencia orange juice when we moved to San Diego. Now I have a favorite orange vendor at the farmers markets and squeeze it myself. Can’t start the morning without a small glass.
Winter - hot chocolate homemade with Droste or Godiva cocoa and cream. Always with marshmallows and sometime with whipped cream (this is a rare treat).
I used to love apple cider when we would go apple picking in the Midwest or pick it up at the farmers markets. It’s not such a thing in Southern California.
Otherwise just water.
Coffee in the morning, Ahmad or Greenfield fruit herbal tees during the day (get them from a local deli). I also make a dinner “cocktail”: I splash of ginger juice, some Pom pomegranate juice, and sparkling water.
That cocktail sounds wonderful. I’m going to try that as a sophisticated option to my Sonic Cherry Limeades, lol.
