I just finished my first year at Bryn Mawr, and I can assure you students manage to have fun in various ways.

I love Smith. Obsessed with Smith. Smith is the best. haha

Which, do you feel, has the least “party school” feel. I’m straightedge and I don’t want my roommate to be like, a big drinker or anything.

I wouldn’t say that any of the Seven Sisters at least are party schools (or probably any women’s college though I’m most familiar with the Sisters). However, I can say from experience that I didn’t know too many women at Smith who did not drink by choice. I knew a couple who couldn’t drink because of health issues (interfered with medication and such), but I think the majority of women at Smith and at the other Seven Sisters’ do drink socially and like college students everywhere, can get a bit tipsy on the weekends and go out to dance. So just, be prepared for that. If you’re straightedge, you might want to note that on your roommate form and also make sure to discuss that with your roommate once you move in.

Scripps! And not just because I married a girl from Scripps. It’s an amazingly good school that has not yet been discovered by many students, one where history, literature, and philosophy are taken quite seriously and everyone takes them. If it were located in the Northeast, instead of in Southern California, it would be a Top 20 liberal arts college easily. What it is, though, is a Top 30 liberal arts college with a first-rate academic program. And it is connected to four other major colleges just down the street or across campus – Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer.

And don’t forget Mills College in Oakland, California, which remains all-female and isn’t half bad.

Wellesley Wellesley Wellesley!

It’s the only women’s college I’ve ever dreamed of attending and it’s the only one I had applied to.

Truly a dream come true. Class of 2014, woo! =]

Congrats to Pinkcess!!

I love Barnard!!! I will def. apply ED this year!!!
I love the atmosphere there!!! And I have talked to the AO in Barnard and she said I really fit Barnard!!! God!! I’m soooooo in love with it!!

oh! btw…I’m from China. so the only problem is that Barnard does not give many financial aids to international students. and it’s kind of expensive to live there. I’m struggling whether i should apply for financial aid these days…

Anyway!! Barnard is def. my favorite women’s college!!!

What if the roomate ain’t straight? Ahaha

sujulove: You might want to consider MtHolyoke. For the class of 2014, the greatest proportion of internationals were from China. The 2014 class has 25% internationals (extremely high for a LAC), with China having the greatest share:

MoHo was rated in 2010 as #1 in classroom experience by Princeton review.

ConCerndDad, thanks for the information! =)

Wellesley!

Wellesley!
And in a very close second, Bryn Mawr.
Third is a tie between Smith and Barnard.

Truth be told, I’m a fan of all the Seven Sisters, but as a proud Mount Holyoke alumna, it’s my favorite.

MOUNT HOLYOKE!!!
I picked Moho over Smith easily. And contrary to popular belief, you can party and meet guys if you know where to go and have social skills… you just have to be motivated to find some fun and do some exploring. I’m not straight-edged to any degree and have found other girls like myself that go off campus every weekend, but it’s great to come home to a nice quiet (and beautiful) dorm! The only thing that Smith had over MHC for me was better dorms, BUT Smith dorms are palaces, and Holyoke’s are just really nice.

SCRIPPS COLLEGE! It’s a small women’s college part of the Claremont Colleges Consortium, so you get the best of both worlds. (You can literally walk across the street and be at one of four other liberal arts schools, that are all coed.)

The campus has been rated #4 most beautiful in the WORLD, the education quality is amazing–the professors are so great and approachable, and classes are small–and the resources that come with being part of the Consortium are great. Everyone is so intelligent, nice, and supportive of each other. There are so many opportunities here, and the nightlife is great–REALLY great party scene at the other colleges–and if you’re not into that there are a lot of sober activities too. (And I guarantee you our dorms are better than Smith’s, though I guess I can’t say for sure, haha.)

Regardless of the women’s-college discussion theme, I would still pick this as my favorite school over any coed school.

EVERYONE–no matter if you’re looking specifically for a women’s college or not–SHOULD CONSIDER SCRIPPS!

Mills College <3

Mills College!
(Class of 2015!)

wellesley. its the highest rated all women’s college LAC

^plus hillary clinton went there :D

Wellesley, Mt. Holyoke, Simmons, Smith, Chatham, Converse, Russell Sage, Converse, Hollins, Sweet Briar, so many good ones out there!

Smith College. Such a good place :)
