No, you're only allowed to write down a movie that is in a specific language, because it doesn't achieve diversity for you to have a movie in a different language...of course you can!!! I think that'd be a plus (well-roundedness), actually. Actually, one of my favorite movies is Les Choristes.

My favorite movie is in Italian...they have some great films.

Finding Roger

Pride and Prejudice or Romance of the Three Kingdoms

If I put a book about philosophy as my favorite book will it make me look like I'm sucking up? Because I really do love that book and it's my favorite.

i think the sucking up thing referred specifically to a beautiful mind. what you mentioned would be just fine.

wonder if cartoons count as movies?

if you look at last year's posts, people seem to have got in with 'HArry Potter' as their favorite book. Not to say i dont like the books, but for a Pton app you'd think people might have some better ideas. Im pretty sure this section carries no weight in the admissions and is just a method of engaging us in the application

If they're feature length, I would say so.

You people are making a big deal of small stuff. It might end up screwing you over. Quit being so critical.

I know this thread is really old but I really want to ask if choosing The Dark Knight Rises as favourite movie makes you look like a nerd or something.

I mean Im totally not a nerd but I absolutely love TDKR and im definitely not viewed as a nerd here in India. I dont know what the perception in the US is

@jackrabbit420 I personally think its an awesome movie and wouldn’t consider you a nerd for a second based on it being your favorite. I can’t think of anyone in the US that would judge for for that… But that’s just my opinion!!

One book that I really enjoyed was “Reinventing Gravity” by John Moffat. Does anyone familiar with this book and/or MOG as well as Princeton admissions know if it is a good idea to use this book as my favorite? Other than a select few books I really only read what is required for school.

It totally doesn’t matter what you put. My favorite quote was from Calvin and Hobbes, my favorite movie was Inception…

Are you supposed to just write the answers with no explanation or is it alright to explain some answers, especially the favorite word?

I didn’t explain. I would even suggest not explaining.
