I tried Dracula and was surprised by how much I ended up liking it. It's a very good horror story and I even found a handful of good vocab words in it.

Catch-22. I'm a big fan of that kind of writing

I'm sorry: how is this relevant to the SAT IIs?

G.K. Chesterton, St. Francis of Assisi

TWILIGHT....only long book i have ever read

reading books is the best way for enhancing your vocab! :) its a good preparation for the Sat :)

Alex Rider Series. It's badass.
PS: Definitely not TWILIGHT! My sister drives me CRAZY because she keeps crying when she reads it.

I love reading Isaac Asimov books. :) Especially "I,robot". Very interesting and awesome book! I storngly recommend it to you.

Book fads annoy the hell out of me. Whether it's Harry Potter, The Da Vinci Code, or Twilight, I'm always annoyed when people are so sheepish that they have to have pop culture dictate to them what's acceptable to read.

Anyways, I haven't read any books from 2008, but my favorite book that I read during 2008 was probably Haruki Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

have you read The Kite Runner?

my absolute favourite!!!! by khaled Hosseini

^ I definitely need to, it's on my list :P

haha lolcats, i have a list

unfortunately as the years go by my list gets bigger, and i have less and less time to read anything in leisure =(

Ohhh We're reading the Kite Runner sometime later on in the year for a class but it looks really really interesting so I might start it soon!

Fav. book (at the moment)--Pride and Prejudice!

I can read HP a million times and never get sick of it though.

Man, I got a looong list of books I want to read this summer and it just keeps getting longer and longer..

Either The Kite Runner or Dreams From my Father.

Read "Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini if you haven't. I loved those when I read them...

Ayn Rand-Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. Definite must reads.

The Little Prince.

That's a classic of classics.

lolcats4: Catch-22 is my favorite book too! I also enjoy Huxley's Brave New World and anything by Agatha Christie.

My favorite books are The Gospel According To Larry and the Hitchhiker's Guide series. The first changed my life, the second is very well-written and hilarious.

I'm reading A Thousand Splendid Suns for my AP class right now!
