Favourite Year

Hey guys for any current undergraduates, grad students or people who have already graduated, what was your favourite year of undergrad? 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th?

senior year is when your circle of friends is the largest it will ever be during college, you are old enough to go bar hopping, and classes are easy (at least mine were)

After that the order would be freshman year, junior year, then sophomore year.

^Yeah, I agree. I’m a sophomore right now. Last place for sure…

I’m only a junior, so I’m not sure how senior year will go.

Thus far, I’d rank it: Junior, freshman, sophomore. Sophomore year just sucked, honestly, mostly for personal reasons. Freshman year for me wasn’t anything spectacular, because I was staying in my own little shell that I didn’t start to get out of until sophomore year. Junior year though, I have a much more established friend group for both in class and out of class, plus my classes are just plain interesting (with a couple exceptions). Senior year is looking to be a really fun year, but we’ll see how that actually goes.

Thanks for the reply guys! keep them coming

Freshman year was the best. Everything was brand new, and my circle of friends was actually larger freshman year than later (people tend to drift off into other social scenes; some of my friends transferred; and I got disconnected from some others). I partied a lot freshman year and had a great time.

Senior year was the next best because I still partied a lot then - especially celebrating graduation - but I went to a small college and I was really, really ready to graduate. So I didn’t enjoy it as much as I could have, and I felt disconnected from a lot of my friends senior year because I had plans to move on. One thing I wish I did do was stay more grounded through my senior year and went out more, especially senior week and homecoming. I became kind of withdrawn during my last year.

Then it was junior year - only because I studied abroad. The first semester of my junior year I was sick and it was terrible. Sophomore year was definitely the worst, though. Still fun, but there’s this weird sophomore slump.
