Hey everyone. I have been accepted into a university and already paid my enrollment fee. Thing is, I still gotta submit my WES evaluation of IGCSE. I graduated from a British curriculum based school so I graduated at year 11. I have read on different sites with some saying that IGCSEs are equivalent to US High school diplomas and some saying they are only equivalent to grade 10. Dont know what WES will evaluate it into. But anyways, can the uni revoke my admittance if WES evaluates the IGCSE into US grade 10? Obviously I never lied about anything on my application so does the WES evaluation count towards my fate? Please help me out. I dont know when the deadline is and an I-20 wont be issued until I finish the WES procedure, which will take about a month. Oh yea and I have contacted the Uni if that is what u wanna suggest. They said although A levels are required, an O level is just fine. However, the catch is they never clearly clarified about needing to finish year 12 or so.
Umm any help pls? Any comment is fine as long as it has sth to do with the topic…
You are from a different system. They should keep that in consideration. Also a lot of colleges require at least AS level to be completed. But if your college has stated that O-Levels/IGCSEs are just as fine then you shouldn’t worry. Also maybe call and ask them if you will be able to get your I-20 in time even after the WES procedure takes a month.
Thanks for the reply @phantzm12 Yes they did say IGCSE is fine. About the I-20 tho, they said that it will only be issued only after all files are received, including the WES. Any way to ask them for an earlier I-20? Or am I doomed for a late I-20 and the consequences of it?
At my college you can apply for an I-20 before your final transcripts are sent, just to get the process going. Can you fill out the Certificate of Eligibility or an equivalent form that requests that the process for issuing you an I-20 be started, and send that to them?
PS: what country are you doing your schooling from?
@phantzm12 I’m not even sure they have that option available. The uni is Howard btw. I am from Myanmar pal.
