@amdcous Based on college panda the lowest 5% would be a 690, why is this curve so harsh for a math section that was “ok” in difficulty compared to others? Im really hoping the curve is more lenient because of the north east having the lowest average sat scores.
@amdcous what did you get for the angles questions??? I put 80 degrees. is that what you put? Also what slopes question? Can’t remember that one, but I do remembe rputting III only for one question
@DangerDoctor sorry man, that is the actual curve too. I’m so lucky that I only missed (pretty sure) 1 question, though that still makes extremely depressed when I think of how close to an 800 I was, Even worse is that I finished each math section at least 10 minutes early and still got it wrong. It was that damn slope graph that was III only.
@flightzealot The math was extremely easy, I finished at least 10 minutes early in each section. @runallday2 yes both of those are correct.
@amdcous I feel your pain! If that’s right, the only definitive I missed was because of a dumb mistake!!! I missed the x>1/6 question cause for some reason in that state of mind… I for some reason thought 1/7>1/6. So I got that wrong. not sure why but I was kicking myself after the test. I am very confident that I got every grid in right and 96% sure i got everything else right then.
what was the slope q? I think that was the one question I omit :’(
yeah i thought it was like 60 and 40 for two angles so I put 80
@amdcous I mean, the curve isn’t set in stone, right? Like theres still a possibility that it may be different.
@runallday2 ah man that sucks. Yea I remember distinctively plugging in 1/7 and seeing that it would invalidate the inequality. I really really hope I didn’t make any other dumb mistake and only missed that one slope one.
but the international version of the December 2013 test had a much more lenient curve so you’re incorrect. Look at the thread 1 wrong in the math was 790 vs 770 is u.s
I just hope I maybe, maybe might have gotten scores of M 630, W 800, and R 770, that’d make my 2200 goal… but I probably missed a lot more than that in math
@sosoyumii Ok but this is the discussion for the U.S. test, not the international. Listen, I hope you’re right about there being a different curve for this test than the December 2013 (even though its the same test), but i don’t know. As of now, this is all speculation.
for the essay i wrote about how i won a competition using my gut feeling and how dr house (from house md) diagnosed a very hard case due to his gut feeling. Is that a good idea? can someone please help
@amethyst2000 I think so, as long as you conveyed your ideas really convincingly and had a strong thesis.
@flightzealot I only mentioned the international curve because amdcous claims the curve is the same as the December one bc that curve was the same as the international one. ( which it isn’t)
@sosoyumii But doesn’t that mean it’s more likely that we will have the same curve because we are in the U.S…
@sosoyumii This test was administered December 2013 (US) and October 2014 (International).
Can one of you provide more context about the angles problem you’re talking about? I don’t seem to recall one like that.
@aabraham I think it was the one with the parallel lines and what degrees x would be
the December sat w013 international was the same too
2013*
I hear the curve is predetermined but is also based on region and how others do
