I just hope the math curve is more generous. That’s all
OK, so have we come to a conclusion? Will it be based off the December 2013 curve or the January 2016 Curve?
@purplepuffin no one is even close to a conclusion. I’m calling CB tomorrow.
i just tweeted them, lets see if they respond
People keep saying this, but I’ve never seen any credible evidence. In all my experience, the curve has been the same as it was the first time the exam was given.
@marvin100 “first time the exam was given”
do you mean the first time the actual test was given (in our example December 2013) or do you mean when the test was supposed to be (January 2016)?
What did you guys get for the math question that gave the sequence of positive, negative, negative, positive numbers which were derived by multiplying the two preceding numbers and they asked for how many positive numbers in a set of 60 numbers.
So far there are four possibilities regarding the curve:
- Same as the December 2013 (US) one
- Same as the October 2014 (International) one
- Same as the January 2016 (US) one
- Original
If someone emails/calls CB about the curve and is replied, would you share CB’s response in this thread? Thank you.
good luck erebody
What was that question about something less than 3000?
When should we be getting our scores?
Do you guys remember what the pie chart question was about?
@michellejnb99 the answer was 20
@marvin100 the December 2013 sat was used for the October international 2014 test but the curves were different
@sosoyumii - people have told me that before but nobody’s provided any evidence. Do you have a link or sth? I’m happy to be proven wrong on this, btw–I’m not deeply invested–but so far all I’ve seen is rumor and speculation.
@purplepuffin - I mean the first time the test was given.
@sosoyumii Well, the curve was different for the international test, we’re in the U.S., so i doubt that it’ll be different from the December 2013 U.S. SAT, but hopefully, it is, fingers crossed.
We should all be in a circle and pray for a lenient curve.
was that question that i asked about( how many positive numbers in a sequence of 60 numbers) part of the experimental section
What was the answer to the circle question with the unshaded and shaded portions??
http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf I just don’t understand how the curve could be that harsh. If you look at the harshest curve (refer to the link ^) you’ll see that only after (-5) does the score begin to dip into the 600s. I don’t know why but i feel that a more lenient curve will be used, maybe -3 will equate to, idk, 700 or 710 this time around, instead of 690.
