The federal aid I received is weirdly low,so does college financial aid be announced all at once or seperate dates? Like for example did you receive a grant at a different date then federal sub loan?
Why do you think it’s low?
Freshman yr I received $1,200 more even though I did my FAFSA really late, and this yr I did my FAFSA early
What was the EFC for each year?
In your other threads, you indicate that you’re a freshman. Are you talking about the results of your FAFSA for the 2017-18 school year?
What was your EFC from your first FAFSA and what is it for your second FAFSA?
Last year 004170
This year 004309
the Max Pell grant for a 0 EFC is $5920
the higher your EFC is, the lower your Pell Grant will be (no award after $5100)
EFC of $4309 = 1570 a year or $785 semester

Your FAFSA EFC is higher…so your Pell for next year will be lower.
What other aid are you talking about??
Also, for 2017-2018, did you or your parents have more in assets when you filed that fafsa? Because the income from 2015 was used for both 2016-2017…and 2017-2018.
A FAFSA EFC Increase of $129 wouldn’t normally result in a federal aid decrease of $1,200. @Louie17 , please tell us what the specific amounts are for each federal aid category, both for this year and next year: Pell grant, federal loans, federal work study (If applicable), SEOG grant.
And @Louie17 please add in any school based grants you might also have received.
Also…are you saying you have already received your financial aid package for your second year of college? Most colleges don’t send those out until later…much later.
Freshman yr I received the Texas grant supplement of like $1,200 even though I did my FAFSA late, and so I thought this yr I can do my FAFSA early to receive better benefits
@Louie17
How much LESS is your actual financial aid award for 2017-2018…and have you received THAT actual, award from the college?
Like I said…most continuing students don’t see their financial aid awards now…they see them MUCH later on the spring…or even early summer.
So the difference between this year and last is the Texas grant supplement? That’s not federal aid. Your thread title refers to federal aid. You need to address your question to whatever Texas state authority administers the Texas grant supplement.
Yea i was also confused in why I received it now
(Stephen F. Austin state university)
And asking again…have you received the actual 2017-2018 financial aid package? Have you actually RECEIVED your Texas grant for,the 2017-2018 school year?
If so…what is the $$$ amount difference?
I just copy and paste the financial aid

Ok…so,what is the difference?
Are you SURE that is for next school year…and not for the current term!?
These numbers look like they are for one semester. Is that right? Is this for a semester this academic year (2016-2017) or next academic year (2017-2018)?
These are 2017-2018
For one semester, right?
So now show us the numbers for one semester for the current academic year (2016-2017).
